DemiDemiDemi is a wild Burro, rescued at days old from the desert of Eastern Oregon, brought to us by a friend when she was three months old in 2014. The domestic life can be challenging due to the richness of the hay and feed available on the East Coast. As a result, Demi has experienced several health issues, which I am certain, without the help of For Love of the Horse, would not have had a happy ending without considerable expense, poor health and pain.

In May 2021, she was showing signs of lameness in her right leg. After treating for an abscess with no resolution, we had x-rays taken and revealed deterioration of the hoof as well as rotation. We immediately reached out to For Love of the Horse and started her on Hoof Ailments Solution and Hoof Bone Repair. Along with daily wrapping of the hoof to keep it clean we trimmed the hoof every five weeks. The experts said it would take a year to fully grow out the hoof and further rotation was a big concern.

We took progress x-rays in September and then again in December and the results were amazing! She was brought back to excellent health in seven months which continues to this day.
