Angela and FancyI have a 9 year old Missouri fox trotter that 3 months ago started growing a long coat, the indents above her eyes swelled up like golf balls and she lost all her energy.
We ride 5 days a week on tough trails for 2 hours; we have been known to go for 3 hours without breaking a sweat. My girl fancy was in the best shape of her life.
Then, she started losing her energy and after a half an hour trail ride would be dripping with sweat, her head would hang low and I would wonder if she could make it back to the barn ok. My vet started using terms such as..."peripheral Cushing’s, type 2 diabetes and EMS".
I immediately started searching the web. The first time I tried I found floth. I was amazed at what I was reading; I thought it was a god send. I got into the forum right away, told everyone about my situation and the emails started pouring in! I couldn't believe the outpouring of care, input and support. The forum "angels" were full of information, support and empathy for my situation. Dr. Thomas wrote back right away and talked me through the whole thing. He is the most kind and sympathetic man. He answered my questions and gave me so much insight as to what was going on in my girl.
My vet got our labs back and we found the only level that was off was her insulin. Normal running up to 25 she was 26.1. My vet wanted to put her on chromium. I went back and forth about her prognosis....
So after much deliberation, I decided to order my herbs. Dr. Thomas looked at fancy's case and told me exactly what herbs to get and how much to give her.
I trusted him and we are living proof the herbs work. I started fancy on her herbs 5 weeks ago. The first week she started to get more energy back, the second week she started shedding like crazy!! The third week we were back up to our hour long trail ride without sweating and head hanging low. Our fifth week, last Saturday we went for a tough 3 hour trail ride up and down the hills through the rivers and over the bridges and she barely broke a sweat. She has so much energy now, I have to turn her out in the arena for 5 minutes to let her buck and kick before our ride!!
