My thoroughbred Zip has had a long history of ulcers and Gastro guard was the only thing that could get rid of them, but of course, once you take them off of it, they come back. He’s always had a pretty serious case and you can definitely see it and feel it under saddle and especially on the ground. It is tough because his personality is already kind of rough and nippy, but it was getting really bad. He was kicking out at me and trying to bite me all the time and didn’t want to be brushed at all. He was also refusing at almost every jump and felt a bit weird on the flat. I knew his ulcers must be kicking up again, but I was tired of trying the Eastern medicine. I love Chinese herbs and use some for myself so when I found this site, I thought I would give this product a go! After eight scoops twice a day for a week and then another week at six scoops twice a day I could definitely notice a difference in his behave just on the ground. He didn’t mind me brushing him as much and completely stopped kicking out at me. He is much more sweet now and is loving more cuddles and kisses on the nose and now the nipping is just cute little friendly nips, like his usual self. After a month of him being on this, I started jumping him again and it was like he never had the problem of stopping at jumps. My horse did have to have eye surgery so I do think that was partly the problem, but with the eye surgery put aside I’ve had the same problem of stopping at the jumps and it not being his eyes, it was the ulcers. I tried another Chinese medicine before this, stomach happy, and it didn’t do anything, but this one definitely is doing something and I think it might be a lifesaver! I will post another review if we ever do a scop!
